Special equipment refers to boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders), pressure pipes, elevators, hoisting machinery, passenger ropeways, large-scale amusement facilities, special motor vehicles in the field (factory) and other special equipment to which this Law applies as stipulated by laws and administrative regulations.

Article 2 This Law is applicable to the production (including design, manufacture, installation, modification and repair), operation, use, inspection and testing of special equipment and the safety supervision and management of special equipment.
The special equipment mentioned in this Law refers to boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders), pressure pipes, elevators, lifting machinery, passenger ropeways, large amusement facilities, special motor vehicles in the field (factory) and other special equipment to which this Law is applicable according to laws and administrative regulations.
The state implements catalog management for special equipment. The catalogue of special equipment shall be formulated by the safety supervision and management department of special equipment in the State Council, and shall be implemented after being approved by the State Council.
