Samsung plans to launch new smartwatches later this year, following the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active 2, according to Sammobile. The devices have already been certified.
Media reports that Samsung's next-generation smartwatch models will be the SM-R840/845 and SM-R850/855, respectively, according to IT Home.
The devices have already been certified by China's CMIIT. These smartwatches are either known as Galaxy Watch 2 /; Galaxy Watch Active 3 . The new Samsung smartwatches will have 8GB of internal storage, which is twice as much as the older Samsung smartwatches.
Certification documents show that the upcoming new Galaxy Watch will support 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Foreign media analysts say the SM-R840 and SM-R850 will be the two different screen size versions of the new Samsung Galaxy Watch with Wi-Fi support, while the SM-R845 and SM-R855 could be the versions with Wi-Fi cellular data support. Samsung expects s new Galaxy Watch to have a 330mAh built-in battery, which is larger than the 247mAh battery in the 40mm Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Since these new Samsung smartwatches were not released with the Galaxy S20 series, foreign media analysts say they could be released later this year alongside the Galaxy Note 20. These new smartwatches are also expected to add features like ECG, heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking to the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
