Heat shrink tubing is a special polyolefin material heat shrinkable tubing. The outer layer is made of high quality soft cross-linked polyolefin material and the inner layer of hot melt adhesive composite processing.
Heat shrinkable tubing polymer materials used with the temperature from low to high to experience the glass state - high elasticity state, glass state performance close to plastic, high elasticity state performance close to rubber. Heat shrink tubing is glassy at room temperature and becomes highly elastic when heated.
In the production of heat shrink tubing, the heat shrink tubing is heated to a high elasticity state, a load is applied to make it expand, and then cooled quickly while maintaining the expansion so that it enters the glassy state, which is then fixed. As soon as it is heated in use, it changes back to the high elastic state, but then the load is gone and it has to retract.
The vast majority of heat shrink tubing shrinkage temperature of 84 ℃ ~ 120 ℃. There are also some heat shrinkable tubes with a starting shrinkage temperature of 70℃ and a minimum full shrinkage temperature of 125℃.
The easiest tool for heating heat shrink tubing is: a lighter. Roast it carefully so that the heat shrink tubing is heated evenly and it shrinks evenly.
Using an electric hair dryer will also work. An oven will also work.
