1. Use of self-brought medicines by inpatients

(1) Inpatients’ own medicines refer to the use of medicines brought by the patients themselves or their family members during hospitalization. Drugs supplied in medical institutions other than the pharmacy department of this hospital.

(2) The hospital does not allow inpatients to prepare their own injection drugs. In principle, non-injection drugs are not allowed to be self-prepared and used. They can only be used according to doctor's advice when the condition is really necessary and under certain special circumstances with the consent of the department director and approval of the medical department.

(3) Self-prepared drugs used by inpatients must be unavailable in the hospital or similar drugs and must be required by the patient's condition.

(4) Under special circumstances, if inpatients use self-prepared medicines, the following procedures shall be followed:

1. The patient fills in the "Responsibility Letter for the Use of Self-Prepared Medicines for Inpatients (Attachment)", and signed.

2. The doctor can only issue a medical order on the medical order after ensuring that the source of the medicine prepared by the patient is safe, reliable, stable in nature and within the validity period. When prescribing a medical order, indicate "To be prepared by the patient" next to the name of the drug, and indicate the usage and dosage.

3. Self-prepared drugs must be kept by the patient and stored according to the storage conditions specified in the drug instructions, otherwise they will not be used. If the ward nurse needs to keep the self-prepared medicines for inpatients, the name, specifications, quantity, validity period, etc. of the self-prepared medicines should be recorded in detail in the "Responsibility Letter for the Use of Self-Prepared Medicines for Inpatients".

4. Before self-prepared medicines are prepared and used, the nurse will check them according to routine requirements; when using self-prepared medicines, the responsible nurse will be responsible for administering them and keeping records.

(5) Medical personnel are not allowed to keep or use drugs with unclear markings, expired or spoiled drugs.

(6) Medical staff shall not use any medicine on patients without medical advice.

(7) The responsibility letter for the use of medicines prepared by inpatients should be included in the medical records and archived for permanent storage.

2. Use of self-care medicines for inpatients

(1) Self-care medicines for inpatients refer to the medicines distributed by the pharmacy department of our hospital during the patient's hospitalization and are kept by the ward nurses.

(2) When using self-care drugs, the patient should administer the medication by himself, and the responsible nurse is responsible for supervising and keeping records.

(3) Patients are prohibited from self-administration without permission during hospitalization.
