Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in January, 1997 by the merger of Orthopedics and Traumatology Research Institute of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the former hospital attached to Beijing Acupuncture and Orthopedics College and the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology. After nine years of construction, it has developed into a tertiary-level A-class comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital focusing on orthopedics and traumatology of Chinese medicine, with synchronized development of other disciplines, integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. Wangjing Hospital is a national medical center specializing in orthopedics and traumatology of Chinese medicine, a national clinical base construction unit for emergency Chinese medicine, and a part of the World Health Organization's Traditional Medicine Cooperation Center, and it is now developing rapidly towards a large-scale modernized and comprehensive Chinese medicine hospital with outstanding focus, comprehensive development, reasonable layout of disciplines, and complete service functions.
