This major was founded in 2001, is currently the second batch of key construction of Ningbo City, by the Ministry of Education, Industrial Design Teaching Guidance Committee member Professor Xu Xi Hua as the professional discipline leader, in the same kind of professional in a leading position. The program is dedicated to cultivating senior professionals with solid foundation, broad knowledge, strong creativity and innovation spirit, who can be engaged in product creativity and innovative design, product modeling design, visual communication design and so on. Graduates have a composite knowledge structure of the intersection of natural science, engineering technology and humanities, systematic mastery of the basic theories and basic skills of the specialty, and mastery of the knowledge related to product creativity and innovation, as well as the knowledge related to the creativity and innovation of new products, as well as the ability of new product creativity and integrated innovation.
Features and Highlights of the Major
The integration and intersection of industrial design with creation engineering, user psychology, automation and digital technology, marketing, design aesthetics, sociology, etc., triggers the creativity and integrated innovation of the practical functions of industrial products, so that industrial design develops from the shallow form of product innovation and design to the deep level of product creation and product innovation. Upon graduation, students will have the skill of product creativity and product innovation, and they can start their own business with a number of product innovation patents (excluding product appearance patents) obtained in school, and they can also invest in enterprises with these patents.
Duration and Degree Awarding
The duration of undergraduate study is 4 years, and it is managed according to the credit system; students who have completed the undergraduate training program will be awarded the Bachelor's degree of Engineering.
