The patient was a 20-year-old male diagnosed with a foot and ankle deformity caused by CMT (hereditary motor-sensory neuron disease), in which there was rearfoot pronation. With the help of the robot, internal fixation planning can be visualized and precisely positioned, and screws can be quickly and accurately driven for internal fixation after effective osteotomy.
Orthopedic surgery can be more precise, minimally invasive, and rapid with the assistance of an intelligent robotic positioning system, thus realizing personalized and efficient surgery, which is an effective aid in realizing precision medicine. For patients, the precise treatment effectively reduces the trauma caused by the debugging of orthopedic internal fixation, shortens the operation time, and greatly facilitates the postoperative recovery of patients. For the surgeon, having a competent assistant greatly improves the surgical effect, shortens the operation time, and enables the surgeon to devote more energy to the preoperative surgical planning of the patient, thus better developing the role of the surgeon.
The Foot and Ankle Surgery Department of the Second Hospital of Shandong University, as the first provincial Foot and Ankle Surgery Center in the province, always adheres to the principle of "goodness and proximity, the pursuit of excellence" in its clinical work, and focuses on the patients to improve the clinical level with the help of the advanced concepts and technologies of Foot and Ankle Surgery, so as to benefit the majority of patients.
