Bozhou is a city in the north of Anhui Province, the ancient capital of three dynasties, and is known as the hometown of Cao Cao and Hua Tuo, and the city of Chinese medicine and wine. The deep cultural heritage supports the framework of the Central Plains civilization.
Accompanied by urban development and drastic changes in lifestyle, Bozhou's urban construction has gradually radiated from the city center to the outer edges of the city. The southern new city under construction is relying on the high-speed rail area, realizing a "magnificent turn".
Bozhou, Creating New Urban Space
In recent years, Greenland Group has been y involved in the construction of high-speed rail node cities, and has successfully laid out the "Intercity Space Station" in more than 30 cities nationwide, which is a collection of residential, commercial, exhibition, commercial, education, medical care, tourism and other types of industries. It is a full-featured miniature city body in the era of high-speed rail.
Greenland Zifeng Building, as an important layout of "Intercity Space Station" in China, is located in Bozhou to build a high-speed railway city complex connecting Hefei and the Yangtze River Delta region. Bozhou Greenland Intercity Space Station Zifeng Building is responsible for creating a new landmark in Bozhou and activating the interconnection with the surrounding areas to realize integrated development.
The site where the project is located is bordered by the park and green area of the central axis of the square in front of the South Station in the north, and the Bozhou South Station is across the river in the west. The site is neat and flat, with an excellent view to the west and north.
By combing the site and integrating the city's cultural lineage, we have not only brought a city block integrating shopping, living and office space, but also shaped a spiritual area, so that the cultural rituals of Bozhou, the ancient capital of the three dynasties, can be intertwined with the modern city life.
Linking Plots, Dialogue between Commercial and Urban Space
The project site forms a stable triangular location relationship with the high-speed railway station and the exhibition site to support and complement each other, and is also an organic link between the park site in the north and the residential area in the south.
The super high-rise and centralized commercial areas are the two main focuses at the east and west ends of the site, while the middle part is connected through a small plot design closer to an "open block". Along the east-west axis, a public **** landscape system is arranged, which echoes with the central landscape corridor to form a multi-level urban public **** space. At the same time, it establishes links with the surrounding plots through the sunken plaza, enhances the vitality of the plots, and integrates into a real commercial core area.
A metropolitan building that inherits history and looks to the future
Greenland Zifeng Tower is the core project of Greenland Bozhou's "Intercity Space Station", a 186-meter-high ultra-high-rise tower that includes hotels, offices, and an open-air bar in the sky, aiming to establish a distinctive urban image for Bozhou.
The exterior design of the tower is an organic blend of modernity and cosmopolitan style, with a symmetrical center and appropriate lines to cut down the heaviness of the building volume. The entire fa?ade is made of silver-white aluminum and glass curtain wall, and the metal frame extends upwards to form a plant-like growth and constriction image at the top of the tower, which is cleverly linked with the image of Bozhou's medicine capital, and is also intended to show that the building is not a symbolic existence, hoping to incorporate the vitality of Bozhou's urban space into it, and to realize the growth of the building and the city **** together.
The tower rationalizes the layout of the office and the hotel, and operates independently. In particular, the hotel has an open view of the city from the sky lobby at the top of the tower. A landscaped elevator between the lobby and the top floor takes visitors to the top floor Chinese restaurant and rooftop bar with magnificent views of the city streets. The design is both urban-oriented and provides future occupants with a place to relax after a busy day at work.
To the south of the tower, there is a small, pure and classical Chinese commercial building. The fa?ade form is taken from the traditional Chinese concept of drapery, with faux wood grilles creating a layered and hazy effect. The first floor of the building is elevated, creating a light architectural quality and a dynamic environment through the boundary between inside and outside.
The commercial streets in the middle of the site are scattered like a village, repairing the disappearing spatial pattern of streets in the city. This design also caters to the local consumption habits, forming a street-side living space full of urban flavor.
The centralized commercial area is located on the west side of the site, adjacent to the city road to the west. The four floors of stores are arranged around the central atrium, and the six floors of above-ground parking lot are arranged in the south, connecting with the corresponding floors of the centralized commercial area. The fa?ade adopts a classic metropolitan style, with light white stone and interspersed glass windows, creating a richly layered cityscape fa?ade and a human-scale neighborhood interface.
The southern part of the centralized commercial area has a 6-story open parking building, which can be used as a level access to the corresponding floors of the centralized commercial area. The mode of "Parking Building + MALL" increases the vitality and popularity of the commercial space, and brings the concept of parking, which is not yet common in China, to Bozhou.
Greenland Group and the JAE design team joined forces in the hope that through the design of this commercial site, the history and culture of Bozhou will be showcased and passed on, and that it will be connected to the development of the city. The collision of traditional oriental aesthetics and western cosmopolitan style, and the implantation of urban spatial thinking into the placemaking, make this site not only an emerging window to present Bozhou's urban landscape, but also a generator of cultural fusion, which is pregnant with possibilities for the future of the city's commercial space.
