Synopsis

The story begins with a senior brain surgeon, Dr. Fong Chi Yan (Chung Chun To), working in Thailand and Cambodia as part of an international medical organization, who suffers a gunshot wound to the head during a guerrilla ambush. With the lack of medical equipment and backwardness, Dr. Fong is in urgent need of open brain surgery, and whether his life can be saved in this dire situation.

Before that, when Jen was in Hong Kong, he was working at a hospital with his girlfriend, Sze Ho Mann (Rosamund Kwan), whose relationship had stalled. Mann is a senior obstetrician and gynecologist who shares Yan's vision and passion for medical work and spares no effort in helping patients.

And Yan has a good friend - emergency room doctor Yang Yingming (Stephen Fung), barrister Jiang Haoran (Lui Chung Yin), coincidentally with Mann's best friend: emergency room doctor Sin Weinan (Christine Yeung), barrister Ching Ka-kin (Chau Ka Ling), the formation of the three men against the three women; often in the work, after work, on the life of the rub rubbing out the interest in the sometimes cordial, sometimes the position of the opposing forces, resulting in a clash of friendship, and even over time, a new relationship with Mann, the hospital. In the course of time, friendships are established, and even mutual love is formed with the people in their hearts.

Yan was once involved in a euthanasia lawsuit and was accused of murdering a patient, but with the help of Mann, he was able to escape from having his medical license revoked and going to jail. The two of them could have taken a big step forward in their relationship, but Mann was unable to do so due to the fact that she had a dead boyfriend in the past and had to take care of her boyfriend's sister and her elderly grandmother. But when Mann is suspected of having breast cancer, Yan not only keeps on giving up on her, but also promises to take care of her ex-boyfriend's family, which finally moves Mann to accept Yan's love.

When Mann's best friend, Chin, learns that Mann's relationship has stabilized, she is comforted, but Chin, who loves the nightlife, never intends to settle down. Once, Chin is taught a lesson and is raped by a friend.

While Chin is still able to bravely take on everything after the unfortunate incident, and even faces a lawsuit in which her best friend defends the rapist, Chin even endures when she discovers that she is pregnant with the rapist's fetus. However, her favorite boyfriend failed to accept her and abandoned her. After the loss of her relationship, KAN thinks that everything is going back to normal, but unexpectedly, she suffers from RAN's friend in the course of a lawsuit, causing her to suffer a miscarriage. While Qin is going through all these, Ran, who has a triad background and gives off the impression that he is a dilettante, is always there for Qin. However, Ran often shows no concern for Qin, which is not appreciated by Qin. It is not until Chin learns that Ran has helped her in the rape case that Chin's heart is finally touched by Ran. Every day and every night, the A&E department is confronted with all sorts of unexpected injuries and illnesses. One day, the A&E department brings in a patient with a serious stab wound - Dr. Sin Wai Nam, the A&E doctor, who is a good friend of all of them.

While trying to save Nam, who is in critical condition and bleeding profusely, they discover that Nam has been injured by a psychiatric patient, who is the only one who knows the whereabouts of the missing brain surgeon, Dr. Ching Yan. However, after much questioning, the public is unable to get the psychiatrist to tell them where Xin is.

On the other hand, veteran police officer Chan Chu-ki (Wan Yeung-ming) is shot and injured during an operation. However, he is lucky to win back the love and affection of a nurse, Shek Siu Chi (Cheung Man Tsz), whom he has always been in love with, and their relationship returns.

Yan's disappearance and Yan's shooting in Cambodia have left both of them uncertain of their lives; Kai, who is a doctor but is unable to heal himself, dies of lung cancer, which has caused ups and downs in the relationship between Yan and Ran; Nan survives a knife wound, but a third party emerges between her and Ming, which makes her hesitant about their relationship; and Chi's feelings for her ex-husband return to a fevered pitch, which has made her gradually turn her back on Kei.

However, as everything unfolds, everyone seems to be at a loss as to how to control their destinies. Mann, who has been praying for Jen's safety and well-being, is even considering turning his life over to the heavens to serve God from now on, as if Mann's motivation is to seek the blessings of the people around him in exchange for them.
