Xinqiao hospital is the Second Affiliated Hospital of Army Medical University, which was founded in 1944. Its predecessor was the Army Hospital of the Kuomintang Military and Political Department. 1950 was reorganized into the General Hospital of Southwest Military Region, and 1955 was transferred to the Seventh Military Medical University. It's the Second Affiliated Hospital, called xinqiao hospital. 1975 was renamed as the Second Affiliated Hospital of the Third Military Medical University, and the current site was selected by He Long, Deng Xiaoping and other revolutionaries of the older generation.
