Macao Kiang Wu College of Nursing is ranked last among the six undergraduate colleges in Macau.
Macao Kiang Wu College of Nursing is an institution under the Kiang Wu Hospital Charitable Association, developed from the Kiang Wu Nurses' Midwifery School founded in 1923, and is the oldest nursing education institution in Macao, China.
The College has undertaken a number of research projects commissioned by the government, among which the "Assessment of the Needs of the Elderly for Long-Term Care Services in the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China", "Study on the Ten-Year Planning of Nursing Human Resources in Macao", "Survey on the Vision Status of Primary School Students in Macao and the Associated Factors", and "Study on the Ten-Year Planning of Nursing Human Resources for the Community in Macao" were finalized and the reports were published.
Since its establishment, the College has always attached importance to the training of teachers and the learning of students, and has signed cooperation agreements with a number of tertiary education institutions in Hong Kong, Macau and China, medical institutions, governmental organizations, and the Government Health Bureau;
Training of teachers of the College, increase in learning resources, expansion of the internship sites for students, and the provision of degree courses, nursing higher degree supplemental courses, certificate courses, and various types of popularization of nursing knowledge and refresher courses. The College is committed to promoting the development of nursing education through the provision of degree programs, supplementary nursing degree programs, certificate programs and various continuing education programs to promote nursing knowledge.
In order to cope with the development of the curriculum and the needs of teaching, the College started the expansion and renovation of the original campus in August 2001, which has now been completed and the area has increased from 24,000 sq. ft. to 42,000 sq. ft.
The College has added a large number of state-of-the-art teaching equipments with more classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories, libraries, and activity venues, which provide students with better and more comprehensive learning resources.
