I degree: I can't see the thyroid, but I can feel it. When swallowing, the lump can move up and down with the neck.
Degree II: The goiter can be seen and felt, but it is in the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Turn your head to one side and you can see or touch the hard sternocleidomastoid muscle.
ⅲ degree: goiter exceeds the outer edge of sternocleidomastoid muscle.
The method of self-judging whether the thyroid gland is enlarged;
First of all, prepare a mirror, raise your neck slightly, lean back, and let your neck fully show in front of the mirror. Look in the mirror to see if the thyroid gland is enlarged, whether both sides are symmetrical and whether one side is too large.
Second, put the index finger, middle finger, ring finger and three fingers together, and gently touch them from the middle of the neck along the sides from top to bottom to see if there are any nodules and swelling. When swallowing saliva, touch the position of the thyroid gland corresponding to the neck again to see if you can touch hard nodules, or soft bumps and small lumps.
