I went to Wuxi for my undergraduate degree, and Nanjing for my master's degree, and my classmates are in Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou, and generally speaking, these four cities have the highest wages, and Suzhou has a lot of foreign-funded enterprises, and a lot of production enterprises. Suzhou has more foreign-funded enterprises and more production-oriented enterprises, while Nanjing has mainly R&D-oriented enterprises, commercial enterprises and financial enterprises. Comparatively speaking, I think there are more private enterprises in Wuxi and Changzhou, especially Changzhou, so the wages in Changzhou and Wuxi are not very high, but the local people in Changzhou and Wuxi are still quite rich, and the bosses are relatively more.
Placed on the life of humanities and so on, I think it is still Nanjing and Suzhou's humanistic atmosphere is stronger, after all, the two are old historical and cultural cities, but Wuxi Changzhou is also good, but also out of a lot of cultural celebrities. For living, I think Nanjing is better. Nanjing's medical, commercial, transportation, cultural, educational, and sports facilities are quite a bit better than the other three cities, and prices aren't too high in these four cities (except for houses).
This is a little bit of my opinion, of course, you choose to work also depends on the specific industry and specific companies, not necessarily Changzhou wages are necessarily lower than Nanjing Suzhou.
