Few people in life can say that they never interact with hospitals. After all, illness occupies one of the principles of life such as birth, old age, illness and death. So today we will talk about the differences in medical treatment between large and small cities and how to choose a city.
Guangzhou is a first-tier city, and the medical level here should be relatively high in Guangdong Province and even the country. Everyone should have no doubt about this. Foshan is a second-tier city and its medical level is slightly inferior. However, there are also larger tertiary hospitals and some exchange programs. Shantou is a third- and fourth-tier city. Basic medical care can be guaranteed. There are only two top-level hospitals, which is still very tight. Not to mention other small hospitals. This is a premise, and the following is based on my own personal experience.
When I was a child, I lived in the suburbs of Shantou. There were many barefoot doctors in the area. They could treat colds and fevers. For minor illnesses, you have to go to the city center for treatment, because other second-class hospitals are not that good, so it is generally better to go to the city center, after all, you will not get the wrong doctor. I'm lucky. I haven't been to a big hospital, but I have visited relatives. The environment is generally tidier, but the quality of the doctors and the medical equipment are average.
Later, I came to Guangzhou for college. Because of my skin problems, I often went to the hospital. The school doctor’s office looked at the transfer certificate and found that there was a large tertiary A hospital nearby. It might be just such a tertiary A hospital. It surpasses the best hospital in Shantou by an unknown amount. After that, I went to several major hospitals again and again, basically all the specialized tertiary A hospitals. I have a deeper understanding of the medical environment in Guangzhou. After graduation, if I have a minor illness or something, I usually come to the outpatient clinic because there is a community outpatient clinic nearby. Because the outpatient clinic is affiliated with a nearby tertiary A hospital, some doctors come from the support of the tertiary A hospital. If I check something, I will also send it to the tertiary A hospital. If you go to the hospital, the level is basically the same, but the reimbursement rate is very high, and you can apply for outpatient services. Originally, I didn’t have a deep understanding of the level of Guangzhou because my hometown city was too small. I thought that the Pearl River Delta should be roughly at the same level as Guangzhou. Later, my experience working in Foshan changed my mind.
I have been working in Foshan for several years, and after seeing fevers and colds once or twice, I clearly feel that the gap is still quite big. First of all, it is almost impossible to find community outpatient clinics nearby. It is better to go to a hospital. The hospital is not a tertiary hospital everywhere. There are several tertiary hospitals in a district, with different levels of quality and water content. The one I often go to is nearby. It took a year or two to get promoted. After entering, I was a bit overwhelmed as I was familiar with online registration, and there was no one at the designated medical insurance center to guide me. The front desk told the nurse about the situation, and then gave me a number and asked me to wait at the door. The person in front of me read it, so I squeezed in. This reminded me of the situation in my hometown of Shantou. A lot of people crowded in. It’s not that this is bad, but I didn’t expect that in such a developed city, the electronic informatization of medical care is so backward and still relies on people. Even a school doctor’s office in Guangzhou has an electronic registration system. Later, when I went to see a doctor, as long as it was not an emergency, I basically went to Guangzhou. Although it was far away, at least I could see a lot of things clearly.
I recently got the social security card in Foshan. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to travel to Guangzhou all the time in the future, so I started to research Foshan’s medical insurance and hospitals, and then I got a little understanding of some of Foshan’s medical care. There are also many hospitals in Foshan that cooperate with Guangzhou, which belong to this kind of independent construction model. Many doctors come to Guangzhou for exchanges. Although the location is a little farther, it is still much more convenient than starting in Guangzhou. More importantly, you can get medical insurance.
Then I would like to make some suggestions. Which city do you work in and which city do you live in? Many people are fleeing Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou because of its high housing prices and high cost of living. I am still very satisfied with food, clothing and medical care. After coming to Foshan, I am actually more satisfied with the environment in Foshan. The air is good, the food is good, and the pace is slow. Of course, it is not easy to make money. All of this is inevitable, and nothing is perfect. And we often make a choice, so I suggest that before the age of 30, work and live in a place where it is easiest to make money, because this will make you grow the fastest. After the age of 30, work in a place that is most suitable for life. Because medical education will affect your development at this time. It has nothing to do with the size of the city, but after the age of 30, you can choose a second-tier city close to the first-tier city, which has the medical education and various resources close to the big city. At the same time, you can enjoy the dividends of development. For example, Foshan is to Guangzhou, Dongguan is to Shenzhen, and Suzhou is to Shanghai.
If you think about it carefully, you may know how to choose.
I may be late, but I will never be absent. I will write an article every day. If it is well written, I will post it. If I cannot write it, I will force myself to write an essay. ,Thanks.
