About zigbee technology's understanding is not so deep I can say my own opinion.
First of all
ZigBee technology is a short-range, low-complexity, low-power, low-rate, low-cost two-way wireless communication technology. It is mainly used for data transmission between various electronic devices over short distances, with low power consumption and high transmission power as well as applications that typically have periodic data, intermittent data and low reaction time data transmission. Bees will inform their companions of the location of the newly discovered food source and other information through a special body language after discovering a flower bush, this body language is the ZigZag line dance, which is a simple way of conveying information between bees. This is a simple way for bees to communicate with each other. This is the reason why Zigbee is named as a new generation of wireless communication technology.
Secondly
Prior to this ZigBee was also known as "HomeRF Lite", "RF-EasyLink" or "fireFly" radio technology, collectively referred to as ZigBee. Zigbee network is mainly for industrial field automation control data transmission and the establishment of the Zigbee network, and therefore it must have a simple, easy to use, reliable, low price. It must be simple, easy to use, work reliably, and have a low price. The mobile communication network is mainly for voice communication and the establishment; each mobile base station value are generally in the million yuan above, while each Zigbee "base station" is less than 1,000 yuan; each Zigbee network node not only by itself can be monitored and controlled on the object.
Again
Each Zigbee network node (FFD and RFD) can support up to 31 sensors and controlled devices, and each sensor and controlled device can have 8 different interfaces. Zigbee technology is targeted at industrial, medical, home automation, telemetry, such as lighting automation, wireless data acquisition and monitoring of sensors, oil field, electric power, mining and logistics management applications.
