Dr Miron Voss, the founder of USANA, is the "king of nutritional supplements".
Dr. Miloon Voss is an internationally renowned expert in microbiology and immunology, and also a pioneer scientist who uses human cell culture technology to detect infectious viruses. Dr Wallace received a bachelor's degree in biology from North Central University, a master's degree in microbiology from university of north dakota in Naperville, Illinois, and a doctorate in microbiology and immunology from the University of Utah.
After finishing his studies, Dr. Wallace participated in the pathology research group in Pioria, Illinois as an infectious disease inspection expert, and directed the work of microbiology and immunology laboratories. After three years of clinical experience, he found an opportunity to make greater contributions to medicine, that is, to develop more urgently needed methods for detecting viral diseases.
Dr Wallace started the Gao Lu laboratory on 1974 as his personal laboratory. By June 1977, several virus diagnosis and analysis theories developed by him had been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and could be distributed in the market for use by hospitals and clinical laboratories everywhere. He developed the first commercial Epstein-Barr virus reagent.
1992, Dr. Wallace transferred the controlling interest in Gao Lu Laboratory and established USANA Health Sciences, a leading manufacturer of nutritional supplements, food and personal care products.
Even though his career is very successful today, Dr. Wallace still considers himself a scientist, not a businessman. Nevertheless, Dr. Wallace's excellent business philosophy has been affirmed. He was appointed by the President as the consultant of the US Small and Medium Enterprises Agency, and won the "Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Utah" in 2003.
In addition to founding Gao Lu Laboratory and USANA Health Sciences, Dr. Huasi also established a complete medical equipment center in Baja, California, which is fully qualified as a hospital. In recent years, Dr. Voss has devoted himself to charity and helping the disadvantaged groups. Voss medical center and laboratory have been established in Uganda, Africa, and another Voss medical center has been established in Cambodia to help orphans and children in poverty-stricken areas devastated by diseases such as malaria and AIDS. As a medical missionary, Dr. Wallace went all over the world selflessly, so in 2006, he won the child support award from the Children Hunger Foundation. In 2007, Dr. Wallace won the Einstein Prize for his outstanding achievements in life sciences. The Malawi Medical Center of the Children Hunger Foundation opened in 2009 and was named after the founder of USANA. On 20 1 1 year, Dr. Huasi won the five-star industry award of multi level marketing International Award (MLMIA) and the two honors of co-author of the national bestseller Healthy Home.
Although Dr. Wallace devoted his life to the research of health and disease prevention, he actually loved music very much. Because of his generosity and dedication, he decided to build the Wallace Art Exhibition Center and Concert Hall at Northern Central University in Naperville, Illinois, to give back to his alma mater and society.
Dr. Melenworth's words
We have forgotten that people once enjoyed life. Nowadays, many people die of man-made diseases, which can and should be prevented. According to statistics, one in every three Americans died of cancer; One in three people died of heart disease prematurely; The rest died of another disease or an accident. Only a few people will naturally grow old for a hundred years.
It is unfortunate that most people die prematurely and waste too many years in pain and suffering. Chronic degenerative diseases are ravaging the world. My parents died prematurely because of this. When I was 0/7 years old, my father died of heart disease, and my mother died of cancer a few years ago. When my father died, I remember my mother telling me that she hoped I could do something to help him.
We now know that the best nutrition is the key to long-term health. Unfortunately, in a typical modern diet, it is difficult for us to get the high level of nutrition needed to maintain health. In addition, the nutritional supplement industry is full of imperfect and unbalanced products. This discovery prompted me to establish USANAHealth Sciences in 1992, with the aim of developing powerful nutritional formulas and making high-quality nutritional supplements. Today, I believe that the products of USANA Health Sciences can make people live a long and healthy life. I am very excited to share this good news with you.
USANA customers can rest assured that their body cells are getting the right kind and quantity of nutrition. At the same time, the USANA family focuses on helping people adopt a healthy lifestyle supported by USANA products, which has become a global force. I dream of a world without pain, a world without disease. USANA will become the healthiest family in the world. I hope you can agree with my belief, and I hope you can love life, live a healthy and happy life, and make every moment of life wonderful and rich.
Enrich the foundation of life
Dr Wallace, founder and chairman of USANA, recalled, "I was only seventeen when my father died. That was the most painful thing in my life. How much I want my father's approval, even today, I still want to make up for his death. Like other teenagers, I have never had time to spend with him. Of course, when he left, it was too late. I think that really left an indelible mark on my life-I lost my father when I was very young. 」
Although he lost his father when he was in high school, Dr. Wallace's childhood family education was still very happy.
He said, "I have a very warm family. His parents specially planned the birth years of their three sons in order to take good care of them at their important growth stage. " Marvin is fourteen years older than me, while Charles is seven or eight years older than me. They are like raising three "only children". I had a happy childhood. My parents love each of us very much. 」
1940, Dr. Wallace was born in Napoleon, North Dakota. It is a small village with only 1 0,000 people. At that time, Dr. Voss's father was a farmer like almost all North Dakota people. But unlike most of his contemporaries, Adam Wallace was also a businessman. His son explained, "farming alone can't satisfy him, so he started a small business with his brother." They cooperated in hardware store and furniture store, and bought John Deere farm tools store and Ford distribution right. 」
For these business reasons, the Huasi family moved from a remote farm to a small town, and then Miron was born about six years later. Because they lived in Napoleon but farmed in the suburbs, they were called "roadside farmers". This family is relatively simple. Like many other families in the community at that time, there was no running water and no indoor sanitation equipment.
Melenworth's childhood was happy, although the conditions were not superior. He was energetic and active, and these remarkable characteristics in his later years were obvious when he was young. His brother Marvin said, "He is a conscientious child, but he also knows how to enjoy life. He is not a sports star, but he loves sports and won the school excellent athlete award. He always has a soft spot for music, not only joining the school band, but also being a member of the choir. His singing is really nice! Not outstanding in primary school, but excellent in high school, serving as a class cadre every year. When he graduated from college, he began to seriously consider doing something. 」
Dr Weiss's mother, Bertha Weiss, is a very devout believer. She insisted that her son go to church every Sunday and attend other church parties. In fact, she wants Miron to become a priest. Their whole family are members of the evangelical church in this area. Miron attends the gospel camp of the church every summer and is an active scout leader.
He has a warm and comfortable home and is also a good example. Wallace said, "People think my father is a generous and caring man. "Even many years later, I still remember that when I came home from duck hunting or other activities at school, I would pass by some farms or shops. All I have to do is say that I am the son of Adam Wallace, and they will treat me with dignity. It seems that everyone in that area has been generously helped by his father, or they admire and respect him very much. 」
"It will only make it harder for me to accept the loss of my father, who died of a heart attack at the age of 57. But I remember that he suffered from heart disease very early and had to go to the hospital for long-term treatment. 」
Dr. Weiss witnessed that chronic degenerative diseases continue to take the lives of family members. With a few exceptions, he watched many elders in his parents' family die of cancer and heart disease. Even his mother had to face the torment of illness. In her 60s, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and needed surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Dr Weiss said, "She is a brave warrior and a real winner. She won't let cancer and cancer treatment kill her prematurely. Cancer continues to ravage his family, and his brother Charles died of cancer at the age of 66. " Chronic degenerative diseases are really a big problem in our family. 」
Head-on resistance
Different people have different ways of doing things. Some people adopt the policy of surrender. Some people have always denied the existence of problems or avoided them. Others vowed to hit them head on.
War, resolutely win the final victory. Dr Melenworth belongs to the latter. His lifelong wish is to overcome chronic degenerative diseases, and he will make every effort to conquer it.
He was admitted to North Central University in Naperville, Illinois, and received a bachelor's degree in biology at 1963, completing the pre-medical course.
He recalled: "All my classmates seemed to enter medical school naturally after completing pre-medical courses. That was the trend at that time, but I am not a person who goes with the flow. I decided to do something more meaningful. I don't want to study medicine and then practice medicine; I want to create a scientific solution-providing tools for medicine, not just practicing medicine. 」
After deciding not to go to medical school, he spent a year planning the best direction to achieve his goal. At that time, he became a microbiologist and made up his mind to study infectious diseases. "So, I entered the graduate school in university of north dakota, where I worked as a bacteriologist while studying for a master's degree in microbiology. 」
At that time, a young scientist married his college sweetheart Jackie and has been studying for a doctorate in microbiology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City ever since. He chose that school because he wanted to study immunology, and the immunology department of this school is famous in China. Moreover, there, he can conduct research under the guidance of world-famous immunology authorities.
After receiving his Ph.D. in microbiology, he joined a pathology team in Piolia, Illinois, with his expertise in immunology (his academic thesis was entitled Tumor Immunology). He recalled: "Although I completed all the medical courses, it was very rare to have a doctoral student join the medical team of the medical school at that time." He became an infectious disease expert in the group, responsible for guiding the microbiology and immunology work in three hospital laboratories in Peoria.
Inevitable change
After working in the group for three years, Dr. Wallace found an opportunity to make a significant contribution to medicine. At that time, only two viruses could be detected and verified in the laboratory-hepatitis and rubella. Therefore, he decided to study and test the possibility of other infectious viruses. He hopes to complete these tests and give the results to the clinical medical staff, which is much faster than the previous standard tests.
He left Peoria's pathology team and went back to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked in a well-equipped laboratory, but there was no instrument to cultivate cells. He said, "I sold all my property and borrowed $40,000 from the Small Business Administration to buy the necessary virus detection equipment. I know that many big pharmaceutical companies have been trying to do what I tried to do for years, but they all failed for various reasons. I decided to cultivate all viruses that are extremely important for human diagnosis and design a test system for these viruses. I finally succeeded. 」
1September, 974, Dr. Wallace established Gao Lu Laboratory as his personal experimental studio. In the first six months of 1977, in just two and a half years, his virus tests have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and can be listed.
He decided to focus on the rash virus first and develop a variety of test methods at the same time. He explained: "This is the first product on the market, but the most outstanding one is the Epstein-Barr virus reagent. The whole world is looking forward to the emergence of reagents, especially in Europe, which is the company's first major victory. I have developed more than 30 virus reagents, but the Epstein-Barr virus reagent has made me famous in medical diagnosis. That is a test method that people can't copy, and it is still the gold standard of virus testing.
USANA was born
A few years later, Dr. Voss realized that he needed to fight against chronic degenerative diseases with all his strength. Dr. Wallace said, "As early as the beginning of the 20th century, the five deadly diseases were all infectious diseases." "Chronic degenerative diseases have continued to spread from the last century to today. In fact, his own health seems to be deteriorating under the pressure of work, which has strengthened his determination to conquer the disease.
1992, Dr. Wallace used his unique expertise in cell culture and firm confidence in cell nutrition to establish USANA company.
Why did Dr. Wallace choose nutrition as a weapon to overcome chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer and heart disease among many drugs and surgical schemes? He explained, "I think the only effective way to prevent chronic degenerative diseases is to provide proper nutrition for our bodies. Modern people's eating habits lack important nutrition, our environment is full of more and more toxins, and our body's antioxidant defense system is facing more and more threats. 」
Many people have different cognitive levels and come to the same conclusion. But Dr. Weiss's view of nutrition comes from the most basic level: the needs of individual cells in the human body.
He said: "In order to develop the best virus reagent for Gao Lu laboratory, I must cultivate the best virus antigen. However, the virus can only reproduce with the help of the main cell. If you can't cultivate healthy and active cells, you can't cultivate a good virus. I found that as long as we provide proper nutrition to human cells, we can keep them healthy forever, without degeneration or illness. I can keep my cells in the best health by providing proper nutrition. 」
Dr Wallace needs to try his best to keep the cells healthy in the laboratory. To this end, he formulated a perfect nutrition system. He firmly believes that "good nutrition is a universally applicable principle. If we can provide the body with comprehensive nutrition every day: the correct form, quantity and proper balanced nutrition ratio, we can maintain long-term health and effectively avoid chronic degenerative diseases. After all, a healthy body must start with healthy cells. 」
People have never realized the importance of optimal nutrition. He said: "In fact, the toxins we made in this century (synthetic chemicals, drugs, pollutants, stress, etc.). ) produces a huge amount of free radicals, which come from diet and antioxidants produced in our bodies. Our body's antioxidant system can't resist the chain activity of a large number of free radicals day after day. 」
"So, we need better nutrition than our grandparents. The natural antioxidants we take from our diet need to be much higher than the daily intake standard recommended by the government. We need to take nutritional supplements because we can't get enough nutrition from food. When I introduced USANA nutrition products, other medical and nutrition experts thought my ideas were too radical; They think that many nutrients in the formula may be toxic. Years later, when they saw the result, they all agreed with my idea. 」
USANA has made great achievements, and our big family has grown rapidly. Members all agree that the product has changed their lives. It also witnessed Dr. Voss' ideas and the nourishment he brought to the world.
Yongchuang front road
Dr. Wallace's dream is to help people live longer and healthier, which is the driving force of his unremitting efforts. Such a fast speed is due to his energy. But Dr. Weiss thinks the reason is: the urgency of the mission. He said: "I always feel that time is too little, life is too short, and there are too many things to do. I have no time to do something for my parents. But I think what I am doing now is to make people live healthier. I think I am helping people live their lives without being interrupted by premature death or illness. 」
Whenever the sun goes down, Dr. Voss will leave his work, go outside and meditate on the sun. This is his personal ceremony. He said, "I never thought much about why I did it. I use this time to meditate and reflect. I want to evaluate what I accomplished that day and think about whether I like what I did. Ask yourself if you did your best. I must consider that I can do better. 」
