Before setting up your device, make sure it has enough power and the SIM card is installed.
One: Pick a language
When we turn on our iPhone for the first time, we'll see "Hello" in multiple languages.
When prompted, select your language and then tap your country and region. This setting affects how information is displayed on your device, including the date, time, contacts, and more.
Two: Quick Start or Manual Setup
If you have a device running iOS 11 or later, you can use it to automatically set up your new device via Quick Start. devices next to each other and then follow the prompts and instructions.
If you don't have another device running iOS 11 or later, tap Manual Setup to continue the activation.
Three: Connecting to a network
During activation, you'll need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, cellular mobile network, or iTunes to activate and continue setting up your device.
Four: Setting up Touch ID or Face ID
With these features enabled, you can unlock your device and purchase content using face recognition or fingerprint unlock.
You can tap Continue and follow the instructions, or choose to set it up later.
In addition, you will need to set up a six-digit passcode to protect your data, which is required to use Face ID or Touch ID and the Apple Pay feature. If you want to use a four-digit passcode, customize your passcode, or not use a passcode, tap the Passcode option.
V. Recovering or transferring information and data
If you've backed up your data using iCloud or iTunes before, or if you have an Android device, you can recover your data from the device or transfer it to a new one. (Click here for a tutorial on transferring data from Android to iPhone.)
Six: Sign in with your Apple ID
If you haven't signed up for an Apple ID, you can do so here. Be sure to sign in with your own account password and keep this information safe.
VII. Setting up Siri or other services
Next, the system lets you set up or enable services and features, such as:
Siri: On some devices, the system lets you say phrases so Siri can understand your voice.
Screen Time: lets you know how long you and your kids are using your device, and lets you set a daily time limit for app usage.
Turn on automatic updates and set up other features: In the next few screens, you can decide whether you want to share information with app developers***, allow automatic iOS updates, and turn on the original color display if your iPhone supports it. You can also use Magnify to resize icons and text on the Home screen.
If you're on an iPhone X or later, learn more about the new features and gestures in iOS 12. If you're using an iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus, you can adjust the feedback strength of the Home button.
