Article 39 When a medical institution discovers an infectious disease of category A, it shall take the following measures in a timely manner:
(1) isolate and treat the patient and the carrier of the pathogen, the period of isolation is determined in accordance with the results of the medical examination;
(2) isolate and treat the patient in the designated place before diagnosis. (ii) for suspected patients, before confirmation of diagnosis in the designated place of isolation and treatment;

Article 40 When a disease prevention and control organization discovers an epidemic of an infectious disease or receives a report of an epidemic of an infectious disease, it shall take the following measures in a timely manner:
(1) Conducting epidemiological investigations into the epidemic of the infectious disease, making recommendations for delineation of the infected point and the infected area in accordance with the investigations, carrying out sanitary treatment for the contaminated premises, and carrying out medical observation and taking other necessary preventive measures in the designated places for the persons who are closely in touch with them and providing the relevant information to the public. Article 41 The local people's government at or above the county level of the place where a case of Class A infectious disease has occurred or the people in a specific area within the place may implement isolation measures and report to the people's government at the upper level at the same time; the people's government at the higher level which receives the report shall make a decision on whether or not to authorize it immediately. Where the people's government at a higher level makes a decision not to approve, the people's government implementing the isolation measures shall immediately lift the isolation measures.
During the period of isolation, the people's government implementing the isolation measures shall provide livelihood security for the persons being isolated; where the persons being isolated have a work unit, the unit in which they are working shall not cease to pay them remuneration for their work during the period of isolation.
The lifting of the isolation measure shall be decided and announced by the original decision-making authority.
