Article 9 of the Regulations on Funeral Management stipulates that:
After the death of citizens in the cremation area, they should all be cremated. Citizens who are not in the cremation area and die in the cremation area shall be cremated. Article 11 of the Measures stipulates that the remains that must be cremated in accordance with the provisions of these Measures shall be cremated after the death certificate is issued by the unit where the deceased lived or the village (neighborhood) committee.
Except in the following cases:
1. In case of death in a hospital (including other medical institutions), the bereaved person shall promptly notify the funeral home to pick up the body with the death notice issued by the hospital, and be cremated after going through the formalities.
2, due to traffic accidents or other reasons caused by abnormal death of the body, after forensic identification by the judicial department, notify the mourner for cremation procedures.
3, nameless, unowned remains, after forensic identification by the public security department, notify the funeral home to pick up and cremate. The household registration department should cancel the household registration according to the death notice and cremation certificate, in fact, in order to get rid of the extravagant funeral and the custom of building a cemetery and occupying cultivated land in China.
