Jiangsu University of Technology, referred to as "Jiangsu Institute of Technology", is located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It was established by Jiangsu Provincial Education Department and Changzhou Municipal People's Government. The school is a master's degree awarding unit.

It is an excellent unit for undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education, a pilot unit for postgraduate training in the National Special Needs Talents Training Project, the first batch of key construction bases for vocational education teacher training in China and the first batch of decision-making consulting research bases in Jiangsu Province, and has been selected as one of the "Hundred Schools Project" in China.

The predecessor of the school is Changzhou Vocational Teachers College, which was founded in 1984. 1987 was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Changzhou Technical Teachers College.
