How come almost all graphics card manufacturers are code-named gtx? At first, I thought gtx was a brand product, so I was confused.

There are only two independent graphics chip manufacturers in the world: NVIDIA and AMD.

NVIDIA's chips are mainly Geforce GTX (high-end) and Geforce GT (low-end) series, which can be subdivided into GTX980, GTX970, GTX770, GTX760, GTX750Ti ... Of course, there are also some chip solutions (relatively rare) such as Tesla or Quadro used in professional fields.

AMD's chips are mainly radium series.

And various graphics card manufacturers, whether ASUS, Gigabyte, Sotai, Galaxy or Qicai, do not produce their own chips. Instead, take chips (also called GPUs) directly from these two manufacturers (or one of them), install the chips on PCB boards with different designs, add radiators with different designs, and then package them into packages with different designs for sale.

Knowing this is easy to understand. Just find a few examples, such as the following different brands of graphics cards, all using NVIDIA Geforce GTX750Ti chips:

Zotac GTX 750Ti-2GD5 lightning HA

Asus paladin GTX750TI-OC-2GD5

Colorful) iGame750Ti Flame God of War U-Twin-2GD5

The following different brands of graphics cards all use AMD Radium Dragon R9 280X chips:

Sapphire R9 280x3g GDDR 5 Black Diamond Edition

Dylan R9280x Cool Energy (Dataland)

And so on.

In fact, this is a bit similar to a mobile phone. No matter Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, Xiaomi, Meizu, Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, TCL, MOTO and Hammer phones, their processors are only from a few manufacturers such as Qualcomm, Samsung and MediaTek. It's just that mobile phones are terminal products, and many times manufacturers don't directly take the processor chip model as the product model. As an accessory, the graphics card takes the chip model as the product model, which has higher recognition.
