On April 9, 2022, Shanghai's largest square-cabin hospital was officially launched, which is mainly used to treat asymptomatic infected people as well as mildly ill patients. With a total floor area of about 100,000 square meters, the square pod hospital can provide 50,000 beds for patients and is equipped with 40 nurses' stations and other rooms such as resuscitation rooms. There were many difficulties in the construction process, but the design team completed the schematic design on the first day, drew up the diagrams on the second day, and with the efforts of the workers in 4 days and 4 nights, the square cabin hospital was officially launched.
Shanghai's Square Cabin Hospital began construction on April 4, 2022, and achieved its official launch on April 9, 2022, a very short construction period. In the face of various difficulties such as time constraints, heavy tasks as well as limited personnel, various units collaborated and worked together to overcome this difficulty. A manager in Shanghai said that during the construction process, each unit scrambled to catch up with the schedule, refining the work progress on an hourly basis. The construction team worked day in and day out to speed up the project with great willpower, and the hospital was completed under the leadership of experts.
The Shanghai government actively deployed the required resources and worked in 24-hour shifts, with 25,000 workers constructing the hospital in a very short period of time. During the construction of the hospital, all units are in strict accordance with the epidemic, prevention and control requirements, workers entering the site must be registered to measure the temperature, nucleic acid testing, staff should be equipped with the appropriate badges as well as personal protective equipment, and daily disinfection of the premises erected, to strictly eliminate the potential risk of epidemics. The Shanghai side said managers have strictly followed the requirements of epidemic prevention and control in all aspects.
Under the epidemic prevention and control, various units in Shanghai worked jointly with each other to provide 24-hour services to support the construction of the pod hospital. Shanghai has also received active help from relevant departments in surrounding provinces and cities, such as support in simplifying procedures and transportation of supplies, demonstrating China's ethos of support from all sides in times of trouble. Shanghai will provide strong support for the realization of the community's full zero and win the battle of epidemic prevention and control, and we hope that the community can be zeroed out as soon as possible, so that we can get through this difficult time together.
