1. Castle in the Sky

City in the Sky (天空の城ラピュタ) is an animated film produced by Studio Ghibli in Japan, with Hayao Miyazaki as the original writer, supervisor, script designer, character setter, and director, and with the voices of Makoto Tanaka, Keiko Yokozawa, Hatsui Yenryu, and Nun Terada.

The film was released on August 2, 1986 in Japan. It follows the adventures of the main characters, the young girl Hida and the young boy Baru, as well as pirates, the army, and Muska, as they search for the sky city of Laputa.

2. A Thousand and One

"A Thousand and One" is an animated film directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, with the voices of Shu Rukumi, Freedom of Irisu, Akio Nakamura, and Mari Natsuki, and produced by Studio Ghibli, and was released on July 20, 2001 in Japan. The movie tells the story of a young girl, Chihiro, who goes through many trials and tribulations in order to save her mom and dad after she accidentally arrives in a godly otherworld.

3. Totoro

Totoro is an animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki and voiced by Fako Hidaka, Chikako Sakamoto, and Shigesato Itoi, released on April 16, 1988 in Japan. The HD remake was released on December 14, 2018 in China. The film tells the story of Tatsuro Kusakabe, whose wife Yasuko Kusakabe is hospitalized after she falls ill, and who returns to live in the countryside with Gaoyuki Kusakabe and her four-year-old sister, Yumi Kusakabe.

4. Howl's Moving Castle

"Howl's Moving Castle," was released by Hayao Miyazaki in the winter of 2004, following the animated film "A Thousand and One". The film was released on November 20, 2004 in Japan. The movie is based on Harwell the Magician and the Demon of Fire by British children's novelist Diana W. Jones.

Set on the eve of war, the film depicts three sisters living in a small town, the eldest of whom, Sophie, is an expert hat maker, but she offends a witch by doing so, and goes from being a beautiful 18-year-old girl to a 90-year-old woman.

5. Valley of the Wind

The movie "Valley of the Wind" (English: Nausica? of the Valley of the Wind) is adapted from Hayao Miyazaki's manga of the same name, with Hayao Miyazaki as the director of the movie, and Sumi Shimamoto, Guru Naeguchi, and Yoji Matsuda joining forces to offer their voices. The film was released on March 11, 1984 in Japan. The film tells the story of the world's industrial civilization, which reached its peak a thousand years ago and was destroyed by a war known as the Seven Days of Fire.
