Biomedical Science at the University of Melbourne is the application of the natural sciences to medicine, the health industry, and biomedical science research. The program is designed to improve students' knowledge of molecular, cellular and human physiological evolution and to teach them skills in the application of basic knowledge related to clinical, research, and health equipment. The Australian Education Union (/) states that the teaching methodology focuses on problem solving and case studies with laboratories, clinical practicum courses and a particular emphasis on biomedical applications. It gives students the opportunity to work in biomedicine and creates opportunities for them to study graduate programs in medicine or other health-related professions. The program is two academic years in length.
