The National Health Commission Pharmaceutical Management Center, a public institution directly under the National Health Commission. The main responsibilities are: (a) to undertake the coordination of matters related to the implementation of comprehensive clinical evaluation of medicines. Assist in carrying out dynamic monitoring and early warning analysis of drug supply security in medical and health institutions. Participate in the technical assessment of the implementation of the basic drug system, drug supply security and utilization management policies. (ii) Participating in research on the construction of drug supply guarantee system and planning of drug policy system, and participating in the formulation of policies and planning related to drug supply guarantee. (iii) Undertaking specific affairs such as the selection of the national essential drugs list, the list of drugs encouraged to be copied and the list of drugs in urgent clinical need, and participating in proposing drug prices and encouraging supportive policies for drugs in the essential drugs list. (d) Undertaking the daily affairs of coordinating the supply and guarantee of medicines for children, undertaking the construction of a monitoring and early-warning system for shortages of medicines and the specific matters of graded response, and providing technical guidance on the work of guaranteeing the supply of shortages of medicines at the provincial level. (e) Organizing and carrying out policy research, publicity and education, and business training on the rational use of essential medicines, the security of drug supply, the enhancement of the capacity of pharmacy personnel, and the free provision of contraceptives. (vi) Carrying out information construction and information statistics on the free provision of contraceptives, and undertaking the management of information construction for the security of drug supply and the analysis of comprehensive information statistics. (vii) To formulate development plans for the free provision of contraceptives, service management standards, norms and related policy recommendations. It guides local bidding and procurement of free contraceptives and supply security. It organizes and participates in the quality supervision and adverse reaction reporting of the free provision of contraceptives. It is responsible for the bidding and procurement of free contraceptives and supply guarantee directly undertaken by the Center. (viii) Carrying out international cooperation and exchanges in the fields of drug policy, security of drug supply and free provision of contraceptives. (IX) undertake other matters assigned by the National Health Commission.
