PVC and TPE are both thermoplastic materials, they have the following differences:
Different compositions: PVC is a polyvinyl chloride as the main ingredient, while TPE is a thermoplastic elastomer material modified with SEBS, SBS, etc. as the base material.
Differences in specific gravity: PVC has a specific gravity of 1.3~1.4 and TPE has a specific gravity of 0.85~1.2.
Differences in hardness: PVC has a hardness of 40A~98A and TPE has a hardness of 0A~98A.
Differences in low-temperature resistance: PVC is resistant to low temperatures up to -10℃ and TPE is resistant to low temperatures up to -40℃.
Different combustibility: PVC has bad odor and is not environmentally friendly, TPE is non-toxic, odorless and environmentally friendly.
Different application scope. PVC is used to make building materials, artificial leather, wires and cables, packaging films and bottles, automobile parts, etc.; TPE is used to make medical devices, automobile parts, building materials, daily necessities, etc..
