Chapter 8 of the Hospital Wastewater Treatment Technical Guide

Monitoring equipment and instrumentation

8.1 Hospital wastewater equipment

Hospital wastewater is complex in origin and composition, containing pathogenic microorganisms, toxic and harmful physical and chemical pollutants and radioactive contamination, etc., with the characteristics of spatial contamination, acute contagion and latent contagion, etc., which will become an important pathway for the spread of epidemics and serious contamination of the environment if not effectively treated;

In view of the infectious nature of hospital sewage, in order to reduce the contact of operating personnel on the scene, reduce the chance of infection, in the infectious disease hospital sewage treatment works should be used in a higher level of automated equipment control.

8.2 Principles of configuration of online measurement instrumentation

The configuration of online instrumentation should be based on financial constraints and process needs to be considered comprehensively.

8.2.1 Hospital wastewater treatment station should be configured at the exit of the online residual chlorine meter and flow meter.

8.2.2 The use of liquid chlorine disinfection, should be set up to disinfect the level of sewage level and chlorine solution level indicator, alarm and control; at the same time should be set up chlorine leakage alarm device.

8.2.3 Flow meter should choose ultrasonic flow meter or electromagnetic flow meter.

8.2.4 According to the size of the hospital, 400 beds below the hospital sewage treatment works can only set the level control instrumentation, level control instrumentation can be used float, ultrasonic or capacitive level signal switch; 400 beds above the hospital sewage treatment works in addition to the level control instrumentation, it is desirable to add a level meter, level meter can be used ultrasonic or capacitive level meter.

8.2.5 Conditional use of secondary treatment process hospitals can also set up dissolved oxygen meter, PH meter and other instruments.

8.3 Automatic control of content and mode

Should be based on the process, project scale and management level to determine the level of automatic control, the main automatic control content is as follows:

8.3.1 Automatic control of water level and disinfectant dosage automatic control is an important part of the automatic control. Disinfectant dosage should be adjusted automatically according to the results of the online residual chlorine detector.

8.3.2 Electric grating decontaminator and aerobic aeration automatic control; according to the process operation requirements, the use of timed automatic start / stop.

Should be based on the size of the project, the amount of money and infectious differences to determine the different monitoring methods. The following several different monitoring methods for engineering design reference selection.

1, in situ control mode (A): in the electronic control box and on-site button box control, no online measurement instrumentation, only the water level signal switch, the use of water level signal switch to automatically start / stop the pump.

2, conventional centralized monitoring mode (B): divided into two ways.

(1) centralized monitoring in the total electronic control cabinet, without another independent centralized monitoring cabinet (B-1).

(2) Set up an independent centralized monitoring cabinet (station) (B-2).

3. PLC monitoring method (C), divided into two ways.

(1) PLC controller (C-1) is set up in the general electric control cabinet, PLC controller is used for automatic control of process equipment, and various settings are centrally controlled on the general electric control cabinet.

(2) Set up an independent centralized monitoring cabinet (C-2).

4, computer monitoring mode (D). The use of small PLC controller and microcomputer centralized monitoring. This kind of way is only applicable to individual larger, more complex processes, maintenance and management conditions of the project.

Table 8-1 monitoring mode selection

8.4 Control Room Design Requirements 8.4.1 Larger-scale process more complex hospital sewage treatment works should be set up independent centralized control room, or with the total electrical control cabinet room (power distribution room) **** with.

8.4.2 Independent control room area is generally controlled in 12 ~ 20m2. If the computer monitoring control room, the area should be 15 ~ 20m2, set up anti-static flooring, the interior to do the appropriate decoration

8.4.3 Infectious disease hospitals should be separated from the control room and treatment device site to reduce the contact between the operator and the site.
