What is a computer infrared device?
Infrared communication is a communication scheme with low cost, short distance, no wireless, low power consumption and strong confidentiality. It is mainly used for wireless data transmission in PC, but it is also gradually applied to wireless network access and short-distance remote control of household appliances. In view of the many benefits of infrared communication, almost all motherboards now provide infrared data association for users to communicate with devices with infrared data association, such as notebook computers, printers, modems, palmtop computers and mobile phones. However, the computer motherboard only provides a infrared data association, but does not provide complete transmitting and receiving equipment, so users still need to buy infrared connectors if they want to use infrared communication.
Hardware installation of computer infrared equipment;
1, check the description of the computer motherboard, find out the description about the correlation of infrared data, and determine the approximate position of the five-pin infrared port on the motherboard.
2. Turn off the computer, open the computer case and look for infrared data correlation. The standard infrared data association has five pins in a single row, and the logo of "IR" is printed on the circuit board, as shown on the right, which is not difficult to find.
3. Distinguish polarity, and insert the five-wire plug into the five-pin infrared port. The definition of the infrared data association pin of the motherboard is shown in the figure below. Note that the second pin is useless, and there is no lead in the second hole of the five-wire insert. As long as you aim at two empty needles, you will not insert them in the wrong direction.
For the motherboard infrared port with special pin definition, it may be necessary to adjust the pin of the plug-in. The following is the function definition of each wire of the five-wire plug-in:
① Red line: Vcc- power supply
(2) empty
③ Green line: IRRX- infrared reception
④ White line: GND- grounding
⑤ Yellow line: IRTX- infrared emission
BIBOS settings for infrared devices:
1. Start the computer and press Del or F 1 to enter the BIOS setting state.
2. Select "Integrated Peripheral" to enter. (Different motherboards have different names for directory locations and settings. The BIOS settings here are just a typical example. Please don't copy them mechanically. )
3. Set "onboard UART2" to 2F8/IRQ3, and set "onboard UART2 mode" to IrDA or SIR or HPSIR. Do not select ASK.
4. If there is an "IR duplex mode" option, select half duplex; Select Hi/Lo or No/Yes; if there is "Tx/Rx activation" option; If there is an infrared transmission delay option, select Enable.
5. Save the settings, exit and restart, and enter Windows for driver installation.
