July 2012, Beijing Tsinghua Changgeng Hospital Complex Building was completed and inaugurated. Located in the southern part of the hospital area, the Comprehensive Building has a total floor area of 28,789 square meters, divided into 11 floors above ground and 2 floors below ground. It was designed by Tsinghua University Design Institute and constructed by Tsinghua University Infrastructure Department.
In August 2012, Tsai Lian-fu, an executive of Taiwan's Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, became chief executive officer of the Joint Preparatory Office of Beijing Tsinghua Chang Gung Hospital. Hsu Chi-chao returned to Taiwan as the executive. The hospital's construction work officially shifted from the preparatory period to the opening preparation period.
