An IV pump is a medical device that can continuously or intermittently pump fluids into a blood vessel, mainly for medical operations such as administering medications, transfusing fluids, or collecting blood. There is usually a display window on an IV pump that shows the rate at which the fluid is being pumped, i.e., "how fast" it is going.
The "go rate" usually indicates how many milliliters of fluid are pumped per hour. For example, if an IV pump displays "Going 50," it means that 50 milliliters of fluid are pumped per hour.
