What does the GP ROHS directive mean?

GP is an environmental safety certification that sony has engaged in. It's similar to the ISO14000 environmental system, and it's an abbreviation for GREEN PARTNER.

ROHS is an extension of the ISO14000 directive of the European Union. It stipulates the restrictions on the use of six hazardous elements commonly used in industrial production. GP is more common among Japanese manufacturers, and ROHS is now being implemented all over the world.

RoHS is a mandatory standard legislated by the European Union, and its full name is the Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Restriction of Hazardous Substances).

The standard was formally implemented on July 1, 2006, and is mainly used to regulate the material and process standards of electrical and electronic products, making them more conducive to human health and environmental protection.

The purpose of the standard is to eliminate lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) (Note: the correct Chinese name for PBDEs refers to polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), PBDEs is a misnomer)**** 6 substances in electrical and electronic products, and focuses on cadmium, whose content cannot be more than 0.01%.
