Relationship between the First Hospital of Lanzhou University and the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University

Both are affiliated hospitals of Lanzhou University. The First Hospital of Lanzhou University, formerly the First Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou Medical College, was founded in 1948. After more than half a century's construction and development, it has become a national third-class first-class hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, rehabilitation and first aid. With strong technical force, the hospital enjoys a high reputation in the medical field in Gansu Province and even the northwest region, and is an important medical and medical teaching and research base in the northwest region. The Second Hospital of Lanzhou University was formerly the Second Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou Medical College. More than 70 years ago, this hospital was the affiliated hospital of Lanzhou University. Up to now, the hospital has developed from the initial dozens of beds to more than 800 beds today, becoming a national third-class first-class hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and first aid. The incorporation of Lanzhou Medical College into Lanzhou University is an important measure to implement the reform of China's higher education management system, optimize and integrate the allocation of educational resources, and implement the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education. The integration of the two affiliated hospitals into Lanzhou University provides a broader space for the future development of the hospital. It is reported that the Stomatological Hospital of Lanzhou Medical College was renamed Lanzhou University Stomatological Hospital, and the original Lanzhou University Hospital was renamed Lanzhou University Hospital.
