History of Changzhou First Hospital

In the early days of the hospital, there were only 2 doctors out of 27 staff members, and 303 beds were set up. on February 7, 1920, the hospital became famous for performing the first successful Caesarean section operation.

In 1933, the ward building and the outpatient building were built, with the main door of the outpatient building facing Masanbu.

In 1942, Wujin Hospital was occupied by the Japanese, because of the strong social reaction, the Japanese were forced to Mingke Lane Chongzhen School site into a hospital, the hospital name of the public Wujin Hospital.

After the victory in the war of resistance against Japan, Wujin Hospital moved back to the original site, to the eve of liberation, the hospital **** 150 beds, the annual admission of hospitalized patients 3,254 times.

After the liberation, the people's government took over the Wujin hospital, and embarked on reforming the system, lowering fees, improve the political status of the medical people, pay attention to the quality of service, the increasing number of people seeking medical treatment, the hospital's reputation has increased greatly. 1954 started construction of a new outpatient clinic building in June the next year, the gate was completed and put into use, the door facing the north of the Bureau of the street.

April 7, 1955, Wujin Hospital was renamed Changzhou People's Hospital. On February 1 of the following year, it was renamed Changzhou First People's Hospital.

After 90 years of construction, it has developed into a comprehensive hospital with a complete set of departments, strong technical force, advanced medical equipment, high academic level, integrating medicine, teaching and research, and was listed as the third hospital affiliated to Suzhou Medical College in 1995, renamed as the third hospital affiliated to Soochow University in 2000, and was established as the first batch of basic modernized hospitals in Jiangsu Province in 2005 In 2005, it was established as one of the first basic modernized hospitals in Jiangsu Province.

The hospital covers an area of nearly 69,500 square meters, with a building area of 157,500 square meters and two modern comprehensive ward buildings. The hospital has 1,680 beds, with an annual outpatient and emergency treatment volume of 1,756,500, an annual discharge of about 58,300 patients, and more than 25,000 surgeries. The hospital has more than 2,100 employees, including 91 people with senior titles, 280 people with deputy senior titles, 10 people enjoying the State Council's special allowances, 6 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions to the province, 15 people in the provincial 333 talent cultivation project, and 3 people in the provincial medical key talents.
