I. Overview of the Center
The Reproductive Medicine Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, founded in 1989, is one of the most famous reproductive medicine centers in this field at home and abroad. In 1997, a reproductive medicine specialty was established on the basis of the center, and in 23, it became a key medical specialty in Guangdong Province. The center currently has a total working area of 1,1 square meters, including a clean working area of 4 square meters, including clean and spacious specialist clinics, wards, well-equipped operating rooms, high-quality embryo culture rooms, tissue cell cryopreservation banks and research laboratories. Operating room and embryo culture room are all in the advanced design of clean air laminar working area. The center has complete clinical equipment for reproductive medicine and a series of advanced scientific research equipment, including 11 CO2 incubators, 6 black-and-white and color ultrasonic diagnostic devices (including the most advanced Technos DU8 model at present), hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, micro-operating system and supporting microscopes, 2 program freezers, laser perforators, genetic analyzers, image analysis systems, fluorescence microscopes and electrofusion instruments. The center has completed more than 16, cycles of assisted reproductive technology. About 1 cycles of IVF-ET, 35 cycles of frozen embryo transfer and 5 cycles of intrauterine insemination are performed every year.
ii. technical features since the birth of the first in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) baby in our center in 199, the clinical pregnancy rate of this technology has increased from 5% in the early stage to 35%~45% annually, and the monthly clinical pregnancy rate has reached 6%. The center took the lead in developing a series of assisted reproductive technology in China. In 1996, the transvaginal abortion of multiple pregnancies was carried out, which provided a reliable method for the treatment of multiple pregnancies, one of the main complications of assisted reproductive technology. At present, it is still the center with the most comprehensive, experienced and skilled personnel in this kind of technology in China. In the same year, severe male infertility was treated by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), which was the first successful pregnancy and delivery in China. On this basis, the clinical treatment and basic research of male patients with oligozoospermia and azoospermia were continued, and the fetus conceived by ICSI technology after sperm aspiration through epididymis and testis was delivered for the first time in China. In 1998, the research and clinical application of blastomere biopsy and preimplantation genetic diagnosis of early human embryos were carried out for the first time in China. In April and July 2, the gene carriers of hemophilia and thalassemia were diagnosed by PGD, respectively, and a healthy baby was successfully born. This technology has been further improved and provided services for a large number of patients. The center also carried out research on in vitro maturation of oocytes and cryopreservation of eggs. Therefore, the center can provide a series of perfect clinical services of reproductive medicine, and provide a more complete solution to the problems of infertility and infertility patients.

Introduction
III. Advantages of Science and Technology
The continuous development of technology is the greatest advantage of the center. In 1996, the center was listed as one of the five key specialties in Guangdong Province. Since the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the department has undertaken a number of scientific research projects, including 5 national natural science funds, 3 clinical key specialty projects of the Ministry of Health, 6 natural science funds of Guangdong Province, 2 doctoral start-up funds of Guangdong Province, 5 key scientific and technological research projects of Guangdong Province and 7 medical research funds of Guangdong Province. More than 8 papers have been published, including 6 cited by SCI, 4 published by international magazines and more than 4 published by domestic core journals. Won the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Health, the first prize and the third prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award.
iv. Advantages of talents
The center has a strong technical team, including 22 medical, technical and nursing staff. Among them, there are 2 doctoral tutors and 6 master tutors; There are 8 senior titles and 9 intermediate titles; There are 11 doctoral students and 6 masters.
Zhuang guanglun, born in 1937, is a professor and doctoral supervisor. In 1989, the "test tube baby" laboratory was established, and it was the academic leader of the four founders at that time. At present, he is also a respected and experienced academic elder in this field in China. Since then, we have focused on the development of conventional in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer technology, and further developed the intracytoplasmic sperm microinjection technology. In 1998, we started the genetic diagnosis technology before embryo implantation. In 2, we successfully selected healthy embryos for couples with hemophilia and thalassemia and got pregnant. Over the years, more than 2 doctoral students have been trained, all of which have become the technical backbone in this field. Zhou Canquan, the director of the center, was born in 1961. He is a professor, doctoral supervisor, director of obstetrics and gynecology, member of the Standing Committee of the Family Planning Institute of the Chinese Medical Association, vice president of the board of directors of the Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Association, deputy director of the Guangdong Branch of the Chinese Obstetrics and Gynecology Association, deputy editor of China Journal of Practical Gynecology and Obstetrics, and editorial board member of the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. Is a young academic leader in the field of reproductive medicine in China. In 1985, she studied for a master's degree in "Reproductive Physiology". In 1986, she began to engage in the treatment of infertility, ovulation monitoring and artificial insemination. In 1989, he assisted in the establishment and perfection of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer laboratory, and was one of the founders of this center. Since then, he has been engaged in clinical and basic research on assisted reproductive technology and reproductive endocrinology. Long-term work has accumulated rich clinical experience in assisted reproduction. At first, selective abortion was applied and improved in China to deal with early multiple pregnancies, and selective abortion through vaginal puncture was established. This technology has played an important role in controlling the occurrence of high-order multiple pregnancies in assisted reproductive technology and improving the overall effect of assisted reproductive technology, and has become one of the conventional technologies in reproductive medicine. According to the development direction of the discipline, on the one hand, we will carry out technical research on the preservation of human reproductive capacity and build the first domestic reproductive tissue and cell bank in the center. On the other hand, the establishment and directional induction of human embryonic stem cells have been carried out, and landmark results have been achieved. History
