Rabies cannot be treated. Rabies is a fatal disease, and once you have rabies, almost 100% of you will die within a short period of time. But as long as you get vaccinated against rabies on time after being bitten or scratched by an animal like a dog or cat, you can usually prevent the rabies virus from infecting you. Therefore, rabies is a non-treatable but preventable infectious disease. Rabies is due to the rabies virus infection of the human body and the formation of acute infectious diseases, due to the rabies virus mainly caused by human neurological damage, after infection with this disease, the cure rate is very low, individual mild early patients may be effectively treated, but most patients will die, the death rate of the disease is very high, nearly 100%. So for the prevention of rabies, should be greater than treatment, if there are animals, especially dogs, cats and other mammals scratch or bite the body, early on the wounds of running soapy water rinse, immediately injected with rabies vaccine to prevent the occurrence of rabies.
There is no effective clinical treatment for rabies. The "Treatment" section describes the treatment of rabies after exposure, and to some extent this section is about post-exposure prophylaxis. The "Prevention" section focuses on pre-exposure prophylaxis.
Post-exposure treatment, including wound management and vaccination, is important after rabies exposure. For class III exposures, correct and timely administration of passive immunization agents (anti-rabies serum, rabies human immunoglobulin, etc.) is important. In addition, for deep wounds, simultaneous prophylaxis against tetanus infection is also important.
If the diagnosis of rabies patients, should be given isolation care, to maintain quiet bed rest, to prevent all sound, light, wind and other stimuli, large vein intubation for high nutrition therapy, health care workers must wear masks and gloves, wear isolation clothing. The patient's secretions, excretions and their contaminants must be strictly sterilized.
