What are passive medical devices

Passive medical devices are medical devices that do not rely on a power source nor other energy sources to perform their functions. For example: bandages, stethoscopes, hospital beds, syringes, band-aids and so on.

Active medical devices are relative to passive medical devices, need to use electricity, gas and other driven devices, such as various types of medical electrical devices - X-ray machines, cardiac monitoring equipment, ultrasound, etc.
