In March 1963, Ancheng Commune was added and belonged to Pingyin County.
In May 1984, the people's commune system was abolished and Ancheng Township was established, belonging to Pingyin County.
In November 2005, Luanwan Township and Ancheng Township were merged into Ancheng Township.
On May 24, 2010, approved by the People's Government of Shandong Province, Pingyin County abolished Ancheng Township and established Ancheng Township.
After 2010, Ancheng Township in Pingyin County has been used until now.
