A Tradition of Innovation

GE's research laboratory was born in a garage in 1900. Today, this research lab has spawned thousands of patents and two Nobel Prizes, and continues to bring innovative technologies to our lives.

GE saw man's first steps to the moon, created the first television network, manufactured the first man-made diamond, and invented the first airplane engine, and that's exactly what GE continues to think and do. Over the years, GE leaders have built a diverse portfolio of leading businesses; driven growth and cost reductions through a series of major company-wide initiatives; solid financial strength and controls that enable us to capitalize on the business opportunities presented by a variety of economic cycles; and *** the same values that enable us to face any environment with confidence.
