Commonly used is HT200~HT400, hardness to HB=180~200 is more appropriate. Appropriately increase the amount of carbon and phosphorus in cast iron, reduce the amount of silicon, can improve the wear resistance of the guide.
If gray cast iron can not meet the abrasion resistance requirements, you can use wear-resistant cast iron, such as high-phosphorus cast iron, hardness HB = 180 ~ 220, wear-resistant performance is about twice as high as gray cast iron. If you add a certain amount of copper and titanium, become phosphorus copper titanium cast iron, its wear resistance is about two times higher than gray cast iron.
But the high phosphorus cast iron brittleness and casting stress is large, easy to produce cracks, should be used in an appropriate casting process.
