Measures on Medical Beauty Management Services

The Measures on Medical Beauty Management Services is a regulation issued by China's National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) in 2016, aiming to regulate and manage the medical beauty service industry to protect the public's health and safety.

The Measures on Medical Cosmetology Management Services refers to the regulations on the management of organizations and individuals engaged in medical cosmetology services, including the establishment and management of medical cosmetology organizations, service quality, safety management, supervision and inspection. The Measures were jointly promulgated by the National Health Planning Commission and the State Food and Drug Administration on June 29, 2016, and have been implemented since July 1, 2016, officially.

The Measures for the Management and Service of Medical Cosmetology mainly include the following:

1. Setting up and management of medical cosmetology organizations: medical cosmetology organizations must comply with relevant laws, regulations and standards, such as they must have appropriate qualification certificates and medical equipment. The medical beauty institutions should carry out regular safety inspections and assessments in accordance with the regulations, and establish and improve the corresponding management system and archives;

2. Norms and standards of medical beauty services: medical beauty institutions should strictly abide by the norms and standards of medical beauty services, such as they must be operated in accordance with the principles of medical science and technical requirements, and they must not exaggerate the efficacy of the treatment or mislead the consumers. For some high-risk and complicated medical beauty programs, they must be operated by doctors with appropriate qualifications and professional skills;

3. Informing and informing of medical beauty services: Medical beauty organizations should inform and inform consumers in detail before the services are provided, including the content of the services, the costs and the possible risks, consequences and effects. Practitioners of cosmetic medical institutions shall strictly implement the relevant laws, rules and regulations, and abide by the technical operating procedures of medical cosmetology. Medical materials used by beauty medical institutions shall be approved by the relevant departments.
