On December 14, 2019, the annual holiday party of the Silicon Valley Xi’an Alumni Association was held in the spacious and bright conference hall of JJ Lake.
Because we have walked through the four seasons on the same Wutong Avenue, because we have welcomed the beautiful cherry blossom trees in bloom on the same path, and because we have traveled in the same library in the sea of ??books, and because we met again many years later. We all drifted to this world-famous Silicon Valley, and we get together almost every year during the holidays. Narrate the past, talk about what just happened, and then look forward to the future.
First, two alumni were invited as speakers.
Dr. Chen Fenghao from DC graduated from the School of Life Sciences of Xi'an Jiaotong University with a bachelor's degree in bioengineering; and a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University, where he studied under the famous biophysicist Professor Hristova. Dr. Chen is currently the founder of LINKSciences, a medical artificial intelligence company. He is committed to developing large-scale data platforms and analysis tools, mining the overall human knowledge map, and realizing the blueprint for precision medicine worldwide.
Dr. Chen Fenghao introduced us to the Johns Hopkins University-based alumni entrepreneurial club: Hope Huafeng—Building the Johns Hopkins Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem .
I like this sentence "Let the heroes of the future meet early".
Hope Huafeng’s service scope is as follows.
At the same time, we also introduced some member projects to us.
Alumnus Li Wenhai is an alumnus of Jiaotong University’s Autonomous Control 88 and Systems Engineering 92, and is also a graduate of the first batch of Tsinghua University PBC Finance EMBA. He founded Strongwish Technology Development Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen in 1998, and it was acquired by Alstom in 2006. Since 2013, he has begun to focus on industrial financial technology and supply chain finance, as well as new 2C entrepreneurial projects.
What he talked about this time was his experience in starting a business in traditional industries. I particularly like this experience sharing. From why to start a business to the management of a mature company and its culture, it is also helpful for alumni who do not want to start a business but want to be promoted in the company, because it can help them understand the company's policies and priorities.
The two keynote speakers were followed by entrepreneurial sharing by three alumni who are starting their own businesses. In addition to the two keynote speakers, our mentor group also consists of four alumni with entrepreneurial experience.
Liu Yuan, undergraduate in Education Reform 88, Jiaotong University. Founder of Xi'an Prime and Beijing Prime Technology Co., Ltd. It has been in business for 20 years, focusing on intelligent gas meters and energy-saving temperature control. Currently focusing on investment opportunities in the Internet of Things field in China and the Bay Area.
Tao Yong, graduated from Jiaotong University with a bachelor's degree of 78, holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford, and is a partner of Cloudstone Fund. His main investment area is in the Bay Area, and his investment direction is medical health and artificial intelligence.
Yang Shaofeng is an undergraduate in the 1988 education reform class of Xi'an Jiaotong University. In 2000, he returned to China from the United States to start a business and develop online education in China. Founded and invested in Zhonggong Education, Houda Law Examination, and Zhongyun Media, all of which are now listed. From 2008 to 2013, as the assistant to the chairman, he participated in 360’s entrepreneurship and IPO. In 2016, the focus shifted to Silicon Valley, investing in and mentoring early-stage projects.
Chen Zhengming graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a major in semiconductor physics and devices. After graduation, he was engaged in mobile phone power module manufacturing process research and process production line preparation. ALLWIN21 Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Company was established in Silicon Valley, California, in July 2000. It mainly develops and manufactures process production equipment for scientific research, new materials, compound semiconductors, LEDs, MEMS, etc., as well as semiconductor front-end process equipment for small batch production. Products are sold all over the world.
The first person to share is alumnus Liang Jie from Canada.
Let’s look forward to the future first.
Mentor & mentee has been held in the alumni association in various ways for more than half a year. Let’s share some innovation and entrepreneurship at the end of the year. I hope that alumni will move into the future with new entrepreneurial projects and ideas.
1. Altumview Intelligent Elder Care System
Altumview Technology (www.altumview.ca) is an artificial intelligence company founded by Canadian university professors and industrial elites.
The team includes nearly 20 developers, including 9 PhDs. A number of software and hardware products based on deep learning have been developed. The main product is the Saipu intelligent elderly care system. The system runs advanced deep learning algorithms in the sensor to accurately identify and count the elderly's daily behaviors. When abnormal behavior such as a fall is detected, an alarm is sent to the mobile APP of the caregiver or family member through the cloud in a timely manner. The alarm only contains human skeleton animation without uploading original images and videos, which can effectively protect privacy and can be used with confidence even in the bedroom and bathroom. Products have entered the Canadian, Japanese and Chinese markets. Partners include Canada's national telecommunications operators, North America's leading consumer electronics retailers, and well-known domestic nursing homes. In September 2019, Aotong won the Best Creative Award at the Shenzhen Intelligent Health Care Industry Conference. In October 2019, the second program of CCTV introduced the company's products. In October 2019, Aotong also won the Vancouver Division Championship of the 10th Global Open Innovation Competition organized by NTT DATA and will participate in the finals to be held in Tokyo at the end of January next year. NTT DATA will work closely with Aotong and use NTT DATA's huge customer ecosystem to help Aotong rapidly expand its business around the world.
