Bellows are customarily called Corrugated Tube or Corrugated Box in the Americas, and are generally called Metal Bellows in Europe (German Metallbulgen, English Metal Bellows). This name comes from the old hand-operated air bladder, commonly known in China as the "leather tiger".

This type of bellows has high strength, rigidity, manufacturing simple features, suitable for the production of general requirements for flexibility, high strength requirements of high and medium pressure, medium and small diameter metal hose.
The corrugated metal hose is composed of three main parts: bellows, net and connector. Bellows is the body of the metal hose, plays a flexible role; the net plays a role in strengthening, shielding; joints play a role in connecting. For different requirements, they are connected to each other in different ways: bellows, mesh and joints in the form of welding three parts of the connection, called welding; to mechanical clamping in the form of connection, called mechanical clamping; in addition, there are the two methods used in conjunction with the above, called the mixed type.

The structure of the connector form is divided into spiral, flange type and fast three categories:
1, threaded: the diameter of 50 mm below the metal hose connector, in the case of high working pressure, more than threaded-based, when the thread is tightened, the two fittings on the inner and outer taper surface to achieve a close fit, to achieve sealing. 2, flange type: through diameter of 25 mm or more metal hose joints, in the case of general working pressure, to flange type is the main, it is in the form of tongue and groove with the seal. Can be rotated along the radial direction, can also be sliding along the axial sleeve flange in the role of the fastening bolt tension to connect the two bodies. The structure has good sealing performance, but the processing is difficult and the sealing surface is easily bruised. In the need for quick release of special occasions, the fastening bolt through the hole can be cut, made of quick-release flange.
3, fast: the diameter of 100 mm below the various metal hose couplings, in the requirements of rapid loading and unloading of the use of conditions, the general use of fast. It is commonly used fluorine plastic or special rubber made of "O" ring seal.
