Wang Guoshu, President of Xi'an Jiaotong University, is Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.

Wang Shuguo, male, born in October 1958, joined the Party in November 1976, joined the work in June 1973, graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a doctoral degree in electromechanical control and automation. He is currently the President (Vice Minister) and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an Jiaotong University.In 1977, he was admitted to the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Harbin Institute of Technology, and received the Bachelor's Degree of Engineering, Master's Degree and Doctor's Degree.

From 1987 to 1989, he served as a senior visiting scholar at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers in Paris, France; in 1993, he was promoted to the rank of professor; in 1998, he served as vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology; in January 1999, he was appointed as director of the Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province, secretary of the party group; from March 2002 to April 2014, he served as president of Harbin Institute of Technology; in 2014, he was appointed as standing committee member of the party committee of Xi'an Jiaotong University. In April 2014, he became the standing committee member of the party committee and president of Xi'an Jiaotong University.

He has been awarded the title of "national outstanding contribution of young and middle-aged experts", "Top Ten Teachers' Virtues Pacesetter", and "May 1st" national honor.

Wang was awarded the title of "Top Ten Teachers' Virtues Pioneer" and the National "May 1st" Labor Medal, etc. In February 2006, the French National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (ANAS) awarded President Wang Shuguo the ANAS Medal in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of French-Chinese cooperation in agriculture, which is the highest medal for agricultural science and technology in the country, and in 2006 he was awarded the title of Chevalier of the French Order of the Legion of Honor.

Mainly engaged in robot autonomous control theory, robot sensor technology, space robotics; medical auxiliary robot system, medical equipment and instrumentation; biomedical image processing, computer-aided medical technology and other aspects of research. He has presided over and completed more than 20 projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863, etc., and his scientific research achievements have won 7 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards.

He has applied for 15 national invention patents. Now he is involved in 6 projects of National 863 Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is a senior expert in the field of robotics research, and has made important scientific achievements in intelligent robot simulation, mobile robotics, and space robotics.
