Liang Xiaoming's Achievements

Successively served as Chief Engineer of Guangzhou South China Medical Devices Co., Ltd, Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Congress, Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Committee of the Jiusan Society, Vice President of the Chinese Society of Extracorporeal Counterpulsation, Vice President of the Guangdong Province Biomedical Engineering Society, Chairman of the Guangdong Province Medical Devices Committee, Chairman of the Expert Committee of the Guangzhou Medical Devices Association, Master's tutor of the biomedical engineering and business management of the University of Huayu. He has also served as the editorial board member of the Journal of Healthcare Apparatus, the executive deputy editor-in-chief of China External Counterpulsation Magazine, the judge of national science and technology projects, the judge of National Invention Award, the judge of Challenge Cup National Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition for College Students, the member of National Standardization Committee of Medical Equipment Technology, and the judge of senior titles and scientific and technological projects of the provincial and municipal governments. He is also a member of the National Medical Device Technology Standardization Committee, a member of the provincial and municipal senior title and science and technology project evaluation committee, a consultant of the first and second Guangzhou Science and Technology Consultation Committee, and a chief engineer of China Medical Devices Industry Corporation (CMDC) Extracorporeal Pulsation Development Center. After participating in the development of China's first external counterpulsation device, he presided over the continued research of external counterpulsation device, the promotion and application of its achievements, and put forward various measures to promote the development of external counterpulsation in a comprehensive manner and personally implemented these measures. He has contributed to the development of the device to the seventh generation (the eighth generation is currently under development), and has won several major national awards and seven patents, and obtained U.S. FDA approval. He served as the first drafter of the national standard for external counterpulsation device products, and completed a number of scientific research projects on the mechanism and clinical aspects of external counterpulsation in cooperation with national cardiovascular and cerebrovascular experts. He has organized the national academic conference on extracorporeal counterpulsation and more than 50 training courses on technology (clinical, operation, care and maintenance), and trained more than 10,000 extracorporeal counterpulsation workers for the whole country. He has traveled all over the country to provide installation, repair, consulting, and training services for users of external counterpulsation devices. He has published more than 10 academic papers on external counterpulsation. He has attended the 1st to 8th National Conference on Extracorporeal Counterpulsation and the 1st International Conference on Extracorporeal Counterpulsation (May 2006), and has also hosted the South China Brand Extracorporeal Counterpulsation Conference. In addition, he also presided over the research and popularization of South China brand radiofrequency series therapeutic instrument and South China brand TV endoscopic surgical system; he used his own body as the first test case in Zhongshan No.2 Hospital in the research and development of radiofrequency instrument. He actively supported and participated in the development of JH2000 new hemodialysis machine, and these four products have been appraised as national key new products and listed as key promotion projects of scientific research achievements by the State Science and Technology Commission. Television endoscopic surgery system (laparoscopy) was listed as a scientific and technological aid project for Tibet by Guangzhou Municipality, and a medical team was sent to Tibet to operate for Tibetans and train Tibetan doctors to operate independently, so as to leave a medical team that would never leave, and in the severe winter season of February 1997, despite the fact that the heart beats frequently for nearly 10,000 times, he resolutely led the advance group of the Guangzhou Municipal Scientific and Technological Aid Team for Tibet to go to Tibet to install the equipments and to check the readiness for the operation, and received a notification of commendation from the Guangzhou Municipal Government for his outstanding performance. For his outstanding performance, he was awarded by the Guangzhou Municipal Government. He was awarded 8 patents and more than 30 awards and titles above the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Among them, there are more than 10 national, ministerial, provincial and municipal scientific and technological progress awards, China Patent Award, the State Council special allowance experts (1993), the province of the top ten outstanding medical science and technology workers, the Guangzhou Municipal Outstanding Inventor and other titles, and in 1994, 2001, 2005 three times by the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government of the Guangzhou Municipality was awarded the title of Outstanding Experts in Guangzhou. His major publications include: National Standard of Balloon Type External Counterpulsation Device, External Counterpulsation and External Counterpulsation Device. His major papers include: "Application of Computer Technology in Extracorporeal Counterpulsation Devices", "Factors Affecting the Effectiveness of Extracorporeal Counterpulsation", and "An Overview of the Research Field of Medical Devices in Guangdong and Hong Kong".

Director of Research Institute of Guangzhou Medical Device Factory. He graduated from the Physics Department of South China Normal College in 1967. He was engaged in the design and manufacture of external counterpulsation devices, and was also the deputy chief editor of the Chinese Journal of External Counterpulsation. He developed WFB-N computer-controlled enhanced external counterpulsation device, WFB IⅡB enhanced external counterpulsation device, positive and negative pressure computer-controlled enhanced external counterpulsation device and other products. It has been awarded the Third Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, National Outstanding Achievement Award of Technology Development, Silver Prize of National Quality Product, Gold Prize of National Patent Exhibition and Product Patent Invention Prize and so on. "Positive and Negative Pressure Air Circuit Circulation Type External Counterpulsation Device", was awarded the National Utility Model Patent, and was honored with the China Patent Award of Excellence in 1991.
