Is the irradiated thing radioactive?

Generally speaking, most objects irradiated by ionizing radiation will be excited into radiation sources.

The rays that can excite other substances to become radiation sources are arranged as follows in the order of their abilities:

Neutron (n), helium nucleus (α), gamma rays.

Electrons (β) and X-rays have basically no excitation ability; Electromagnetic radiation such as radio waves has no excitation ability.

Therefore, whether the irradiated thing is radioactive depends first on the nature of the radiation; Secondly, the nature of the irradiated elements-not all substances can be excited, and different isotopes need different rays when they are excited.
