1. Nuclear fuel is different. High-flux reactors use highly enriched U as the nuclear fuel, and water as the moderator and coolant. Ordinary reactors use uranium as the nuclear fuel, and generate heat for power generation through the chain reaction of uranium nuclear fission triggered by neutrons.
2. Different uses. High-flux reactors are mainly used to simulate the reactor irradiation environment, irradiation tests on equipment inside the reactor, ordinary reactors for ships or spacecraft to provide power, the use of fission-generated neutrons or isotopes for radiological medicine.
