How to use the heat shrinkable tube?

Heat shrinkable tube, also called heat shrinkable sleeve, heat shrinkable tube, etc. It is an insulating sleeve with high temperature shrinkage, softness, flame retardancy, insulation and corrosion resistance. The heat shrinkable tube is composed of radiation crosslinked polymer, which contracts tightly to wrap the cable joint after being heated, thus achieving the purposes of insulation, sealing and protection. Widely used in waterproof wiring of electronic equipment, sealing and fixing of wire branches, anti-corrosion protection of metal pipes, and preventing polymer chains from loosening and falling off, such as underwater lighting, automobile oil pipes, high-grade wire bundles, etc. Initial shrinkage temperature: 70℃; Minimum complete shrinkage temperature: 125℃. The standard colors are green, yellow, white, transparent, blue and red (other colors can be customized). According to different voltages, it can be divided into low-voltage heat shrinkable tubes, and 10KV and 35KV are usually called bus heat shrinkable tubes (high-voltage heat shrinkable tubes, high-voltage buses).

How to use heat shrinkable tubes:

1. Prepare materials. First, know the diameter of the cable, or calculate the corresponding diameter according to the length and width, and choose the heat shrinkable tube with a diameter slightly larger than the cable diameter.

2. Remove burrs and sharp corners on the cable to prevent it from breaking due to piercing the heat shrinkable tube during contraction. You must use quick-drying cleaning agent in advance to clean the oil and impurities in the cable connection part and keep it clean.

3. Calculate the length to be wrapped, and intercept the corresponding length of heat shrinkable tube. When cutting the radiator pipe, the incision should be neat and smooth, and no burr or crack can be produced, so as to avoid stress concentration when it is shrunk by heat and spread along the crack.

4. Sleeve the heat shrinkable tube into one end of the cable, and move the sleeved heat shrinkable tube to a suitable position. For bent cables, tidy up the heat-shrinkable tubes at the corners to prevent wrinkling.

5. Generally, hot air gun, oven or hair dryer are used as heating tools. In the heating process, the cable should be heated from left to right or from right to left or from middle to both ends, so as to prevent air from being trapped in the heat shrinkable tube and make the cable tightly wrapped after shrinking. Do not be too close to the surface of the sleeve or concentrate in one place when heating, otherwise it will produce uneven thickness or burn the sleeve.
