According to the 2022 edition of the Code for Quality Management of Clinical Trials of Medical Devices, sponsors should report deaths or life-threatening serious adverse events related to clinical trials of medical devices within seven days of becoming aware of them.
Medical devices are instruments, equipment, apparatus, in vitro diagnostic reagents and calibrators, materials, and other similar or related items used directly or indirectly in the human body.
