The Chinese People's Armed Police Force was established on April 5th, 1983, formerly known as China People's Public Security Central Column, and was established in August, 1949. The People's Armed Police Force is an important part of People's Republic of China (PRC)'s armed forces, under the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission.
Since 20 18+0 and 1 00, the Chinese People's Armed Police Force has been under the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission, and the leadership and command system of the Central Military Commission, the Armed Police Force and the Army has been implemented. The functional attributes of the Armed Police Force remain unchanged and are not included in the PLA sequence.

Functional task
The People's Armed Police Force shall perform the following security tasks:
Armed guards for security objects, targets and major events specified by the state;
Armed guards of important public facilities, enterprises, warehouses, water sources, water conservancy projects, power facilities and communication hubs related to the national economy and people's livelihood;
Armed guarding of bridges and tunnels at important positions of major traffic trunk lines;
Armed security around prisons and detention centers;
Armed patrols in key areas and special periods of cities and other important cities where the people's governments of municipalities directly under the central government, provinces and autonomous regions are located.
