Xizang Autonomous Region People's Hospital is located in the center of Lhasa, a famous historical and cultural city in China, adjacent to the Potala Palace, a world cultural heritage, and the scenic Zongjiao Lu Kang Park. The hospital was established in 1952, covering an area of 166000 square meters. It is a comprehensive third-class first-class hospital with the strongest comprehensive strength, the most comprehensive professional categories and the most development potential in Tibet. Actually, it has 850 beds and 33 medical clinical departments, which are responsible for managing three institutions, namely, the Autonomous Region Emergency Center, the Autonomous Region Maternal and Child Health Hospital and the Autonomous Region Plateau Medical Research Institute. At present, eight clinical key specialties, such as cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology, critical medicine, pediatrics, neurosurgery, emergency department, oncology and clinical nursing, as well as clinical inspection centers and pathological quality control centers in the autonomous region have been built, and the autonomous region medical imaging center, autonomous region heart center, autonomous region nervous system disease center and autonomous region tumor center will be built. From August, 2065438 to August, 2005, the Central Organization Department and the National Health and Family Planning Commission decided that Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Peking University First Hospital, Peking University People's Hospital and Peking University Third Hospital should support the people's hospital of the autonomous region in a "group" way, and strive to build it into a national first-class medical center integrating large-scale general hospitals, medical education and medical research.
